IGG

In recent years right up there as one of my favourite players. Reliable, strong, read the game well, and excelled at putting out fires. The type of player you notice when they are not playing. That said, he is getting on in years, he has a big pay packet and other than breaking up play hevoffers little offensively. He is replaceable and as we have invested so much in an analytical database it should be relatively easy to identify a replacement with younger legs and more threat. We must have known he was on his way and I presume his replacement is filed in the same drawer as right back and centre forward. We are now less than 4 weeks from Palace and the lack of noise re critical signings is a worry. I hope that all is progressing behind the scenes and we will be pleasantly surprised but my gut tells me otherwise. I suppose that's the Everton in me, a permanent feeling of disappointment and a lack of ambition. Fingers crossed we see some movement next week now that TG and HH are secured and IGG is off the books. No snippets re Grealish looks like he is not returning and little news on Ndiaye only adds to rumour. It would be nice to hear from TFG but I wont hold my breath.
