Reading that it's difficult to come to any other conclusion other than we are club desperate for cash.
Other clubs know that and were/are actively exploiting that. The impression is a club where a fire sale was taking place. Was there a player who wouldn't have been sold and for a knock down price?
Strategy seems secondary to panic and muddle.
As for the owners their strategy seems to be one of shrinking to greatness. If we had bought Balogun our net spend would have been £15m. Would that have been recovered and more in January, I'd say yes.
