Where do you all get your world news?

All of the news sites seem to want paid subscriptions these days, and that’s not unreasonable. I was always happy to pay for a newspaper, so why not on-line? Maybe because it has been free for years, it now feels like a money grab.

For me, I started turning away from sites that wanted a subscription, such as LA Times, Apple (aggregator?), etc. More recently, the BBC, which had been my default, started with the pay request.

So I’m ready to subscribe to a news outlet, but certainly not several. 

What/where do you all recommend?

Ditto sports news I suppose. The Atlantic?
